engineered vs. solid by suzy on 2/8/2005 8:55:35 AM - You are HERE!

The following message (subject: engineered vs. solid) was posted by suzy, on 2/8/2005 8:55:35 AM.

I am interested in putting down new floors in my apartment. I would like to save as much money as possible, but still ensure that i put down something nice. I'm leaning toward engineered floors (glued), but the contractor i'm using keeps telling me that i'm making an enormous mistake because the apartment faces east and will get a lot of sunlight, which will cause the floors to separate. he thinks the separation could happen in a year or 2. is that true? is that a risk I take of doing a glue down floor? I'm only going to own the apartment for about 5 years, so i don't want to put down anything more than what i need. Any advice? Thanks. Suzy
